Chicken Update
Hello Funky Chicken Coop Tour organizers! Here are the pictures of the coop and the pen and the chicks themselves. I would not call us funky, though. These are uptown girls -- and, as we have recently learned, one downtown boy.
The coop is four by six feet, cedar with a metal roof. We got it from Brad's Cedar Shop in Sealy, Texas, and assembled it.
A secure pen provides about 150 square feet of predator-proof and escape-proof outdoor space. About half of it is covered.
The secure area sits within a larger side yard that is securely fenced. An additional portion of our large backyard is chicken-fenced. We let the chickens out in the larger area for at least a couple of hours a day, usually more, but always when somebody's home.
The coop and pen:

Now, is he a fine rooster, or what? This picture does not begin to do him justice!
