Reales Alcazares - Jardines
I couldn’t stop taking pictures of these gardens. I had not expected them to be so vast and exquisite. There are officially 19 separate gardens, including (just what we needed) a maze. From a gallery on a high part of the walls of the alcazar, you could look down and see the plan.

Every few steps, you could turn in a new direction and another pleasingly composed view would present itself. All this incredible variety was mainly landscaped with oranges (hedged, trimmed, espaliered, and sometimes even clipped like topiary), roses, palms and evergreen hedging.
