Generalife - Alhambra
The pleasure palace (as if they needed more) is today one of the world's most famous and influential gardens.

The pools and fountains and arches of the Generalife must be among of the most-photographed in the world, but of course I took my own. Most of the iron arches that appear bare have the canes of climbing roses tied to them. They had been pruned back. In another time of year, it must be a fine hallway of blooms.
