Autobus a Granada
Si vamos a Granada, es mejor tomar el autobus o el tren? I asked the man in our hotel in Cordoba, Los Omeyas (which was very nice, by the way). El autobus, he replied, as I knew he would.
For shorter distances, the bus is clean, direct and even fast, plus the buses are cheaper than the trains and run more frequently.
When we arrived in Granada, we switched to a local bus to get into the old part of town where we were staying. I used one of my frases utiles to ask whether this autobus would go to the catedral. I neglected to use the one where you ask the driver to tell you when to bajar.
I guess I thought you couldn’t miss a cathedral. But we did, and you can see why. Look at the bus in the lower righthand corner and imagine what you would be able to see from sitting inside it.

So we got off a kilometer too late and proceeded to walk another kilometer in the wrong direction before we got concerned and asked a nice old man. He said to go back where we started and ask again.
By the time we reached the Plaza Nueva, we had bought a map and walked at least four miles.
