Pine Point lies between the Buzzard's Neck and the Devil's Bottom on the Merry Point Ferry Road, in Lancaster County, in the region known as the Northern Neck of the tidal Rappahannock River. These four old pictures are from 1950, when my grandparents, who lived in Petersburg, bought 15 acres for a summer house. Pine Point was dee-e-e-ep country then. The cottage was cobbled together in the 1920s using an old two-room school and a small farmhouse, both moved in from elsewhere.
