France
This is a postcard of the Chateau at Azay-le-Rideau in the Loire Valley. We saw it in mid-winter during a 3-week visit to France in 1983. It was the second time I'd seen it. The first time was 60 years ago, when I was a small child. My earliest memories are of France, and this chateau is one of the things I remember.

Here are my parents, in front of the Hotel Bellevue in Blaye (gironde). That's me my mother is holding up for the picture.

We were in Paris first for a couple of months, then in Oise, in Blaye, for the winter of 1950-51, LaRochelle for the spring, and then Plassac. Below is another picture taken in Blaye:
Looking at the place, the hard-packed dirt under the trees, the stone ballustrade, and the village beyond, this is so much the way I picture France! My father is in uniform and dark glasses in the center of the picture.
