These are o-o-o-ld pictures. We stayed on the protected west coast of the island, as did everyone in those days. Back then, there was just the little town of San Miguel and one or two beach hotels like ours.

The water was calm, clear and turquoise. There's no need to dive: you can see all the little colorful fishies with a mask and snorkel.

We were just a pleasant walk on a good road from the little town. One day, we rented a jeep and drove over to the wild and deserted east coast of the island.

In the evening, the beach was beautiful and the water tempting, but the occasional dark shapes of prowling sharks kept us dry.
